Emerson Park Security & Commercial Building

Other Transit Projects. Metro manages many other capital projects in addition to MetroBus Centers. The projects can include transit plazas, garages, buildings, MetroLink extensions, or any other major improvement or alteration to existing services.

The Emerson Park Security and Commercial Building opened in March 2003 and is located at 929 North 15th Street at the Emerson Park MetroLink Station in East St. Louis, Illinois. The building helps generate economic development for the station and neighborhood through the leasing of space for private businesses. The building is managed by Metro with the advice of a leasing advisory committee and contains a Metro Security office. A committee composed of representatives from Metro, the City of East St. Louis, McCormack Baron Associates, and the Emerson Park Development Corporation reviews potential commercial tenants. The U.S. Economic Development Administration and the St. Clair County Transit District provided construction funding for the building.
