Community Art Initiatives – Fairview Heights

The Welcome Mat in Fairview Heights pays homage to the area's past and looks forward to its future. At the design's center is a Native American symbol discovered within the local mounds; the inclusion of fleur-de-lis speaks to the immigration of the French and other populations into the area. Recreation and commerce figure largely in the community's vision of its prospects. Design by Joe Gray.
